Considerations

The WELLNET team will provide you with supporting information for after your discharge and any further treatment. Please consider the following if you are booked to undergo treatment:

Prior to travelling

Accommodation must be arranged prior to treatment commencing as once you have undertaken radionuclide therapy you may need to remain within the UK for up to three weeks after your treatment.

Check the requirements for taking your medication abroad. For example Morphine, Codeine and codeine-containing preparations are illegal in some countries. Always carry your medication in its original packaging with a valid prescription as proof of requirements.

Visitors

Due to the nature of the radionuclide treatment visitors or relatives will not be allowed in the room during your treatment. After your treatment you will be allowed visitors to your room and they will be separated from you by a small lead lined barrier. Radiation restrictions will be in place and the staff will discuss this with you.
